Weekend Post-It: Help Haiti
We haven’t done a weekend post it in a while, but I’m getting back on track so this weekend seemed like a good one to start back up with it.
As bloggers we have an extraordinary ability to get the word out thing happening in our communities and around the world. In a time like the Earthquake tragedies in Haiti bring our words and thoughts together to promote helping and change.
I’ve seen some great post about helping and healing Haiti, even got a few history lessons on how their situation got to the dire straights is was even pre-earthquake.
So this week I wanted to do our BHC part and dedicate this weeks Post-It gathering all of those great post about Haiti in one place. If you or a blogger you know or read has done a post about Haiti please add it to the Mister Linky Widget list below
Next Weeks Post-It Topic: Winter

Thanks BHC for this opportunity. Seeing the love around the Nation has givn me some comfort. We must remember it doesn’t stop here. They will be needing our help from now on. This has also been a history lesson for me.

It’s so important that we all reach out to offer help to Haiti. Thanks BHC for putting this effort together.
An important issue, and a good opportunity to help. My post, “Sustenance” is a poem, it may be a bit oblique, you may think, but persevere to the end. I’ve received many messages and emails that it has moved people to action, and that’s the point.

I linked to an article that I wrote on the response in Haiti so far. I know there are a lot of issues and opinions being thrown around but I feel like at this critical point we should focus on what is being done.
Personally, I do believe the media coverage and aid is a little lacking as far as they seem to be characterizing the lack of education/minimal mobbing as a major part of the coverage versus the actual need for relief. I do not see what lack of education has to do with earthquake relief (Can they have debated the earthquake away…?) Anyways, I just feel like those who are giving should be highlighted as an example for others to follow because the road will be long and hard. I hope people will not abandon the efforts after a few months. I plan to go in about a year or so when they will need general volunteers versus highly experienced doctors, construction workers, social workers, etc.
I am glad you are raising awareness and keeping the word alive. If we let the constant news/buzz about Haiti die, so will many people as well.

Have anyone noticed that earthquake is a bit frequent these days? . Does climate change have any thing to do with earthquake?
